We are excited to announce that today TNSA Executive Director Rinchen la met with Union Minister the Hon’able Shri Kiren Rijiju ji, from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
It was a meaningful and productive meeting that focused on underlying challenges experienced by Tibetan sports enthusiasts (Tibetan men and women players) in India. We hope that under Minister Rijiju’s guidance we can gradually overcome these challenges/headwinds.
During the meeting, some of the important items discussed are;
1. Integrate Tibetan sports players into the Indian sporting system
2. To leverage existing Indian sports training facilities to enhance skills of Tibetan players
3. Build relationship and tap into experienced Indian coaches to provide guidance to the Tibetan national women’s team. Rinchen la informed Minister Rijiju that our National women’s team will be going to Romania this June to participate in the first ever CONIFA, Confederation of Independent Football Associations women’s soccer tournament.
Thank you Minister Rijiju for participating in this monumental meeting today. This is the first of its kind meeting we have initiated between TNSA and the Indian Sports Ministry at its highest level.
Minister Rijiju, your kindness and magnanimity has given the Tibetan youth a new found hope.
We look forward to having you as the chief guest at our GCMGC tournament in Clement Town this year.
Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
