tongtsen football academy title is awarded by his holiness the 14th dalai lama
Tongtsen football academy title is awarded by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama (HHDL), Minister Gar Tongtsen is an important figure in Tibet’s history. Skilled in the nine arts of Body, Speech, and Mind, he was not only brave and courageous, but was also an expert military strategist and tactician of the period. He was a loyal supporter of the Emperor, and a smart and creative diplomat. He was among Emperor Songtsen Gampo’s (617-650 CE) four indispensable ministers and was the chief of all ministers in his court. He played an instrumental role in the unification of the Tibetan nation and was one of the most widely known Tibetan historical figures.
Although TNSA has been integrated into the Department of Health under the Central Tibetan Administration, the status is more of an autonomous body with limited funding. However, the Department of Health is generous in leasing a part of the land in Dehradun for the purpose of generating regular income for the ever-increasing youth project under the TNSA. This is where we came up with the futsal project which is the first-ever TNSA project for generating funds for its programs within the Tibetan community. Following the same, TNSA is aiming for registering a football club under the All-India Football Federation and to have its own football academy. So, Futsal Ground is the pilot project for the creation of our own Academy and the field in the future where regular training, camps, and matches will be held. And there is no better place than Dehradun, a wide stretch of Tibetan community along the Doon valley at the foothill of Mussoorie is known for having the most popular Tibetan football clubs. The current Futsal location is surrounded by the suburban Tibetan colonies of Rajpur, Dekyiling, Clementown, and the influx of satellite towns along the Yamuna Road, Paonta Sahib, Herbertpur, Sataun, etc.
On the other hand, Doon valley is known for having some of the best public schools with football games as the major pride of the schools. Our Futsal ground with our national team players having experience of playing in Europe will have a special attraction. Besides, such an initiative will be the first around the region with four best months of monsoon. (This is the biggest challenge in Mussoorie and Dehradun region during the football season).
India is a huge market as a whole, Doon valley in particular has some of the best schools with excellent football programs. TNSA can initiate a football program with these schools to use our Futsal ground during the monsoon. Dehradun Futsal tournament will be a huge opportunity for TNSA, as we act as a sports management company, we can enter into the Indian market where we can have better interaction with the local politicians, we can approach big companies for sponsorship, sports events are all about branding and sponsors. We need to work so hard for the Indian Futsal tournament. The money we earn through that we can utilize in our own Tibetan community. We will maintain an online annual Futsal ground reservation with pre-reservation for TNSA and the local Tibetan community program.

Conclusion
So long as Tibetan youth are brought together and provide an opportunity to engage in any activities, we are not only helping them to in their physical development and building on self- identity but also saving them from falling into a wrong path that would become a liability to the community. Engaging youth as nation builders can be a key strategy whether we remain as a refugee for many more years, or we prevail in the future, we are always investing in our youth program within the school and on our community. This proposal is one such initiative to bring one of the major influxes of Tibetan community in the North and become testimony to our next similar project in the Southern Tibetan settlement. It is with this hope and inspiration, we request each and every one to contribute whatever they can to materialize this dream center for our youth.
